Over the past year, many of you watched Billy O grow from an adorable little puppy into a handsome young man.   Now, he's off to Guide Dog University where he's learning to do the most amazing job of guiding a visually impaired person.  For the next year, you'll get to watch Lucy grow from a precious little girl into a beautiful young lady.

Did you know that Southeastern Guide Dogs breeds, raises, and trains some of the finest guide dogs in the world? A guide dog makes all the difference in the world to a visually impaired person. Just imagine if you or I couldn't leave the house without help! A dog means freedom, independence, and companionship.

As a volunteer puppy raiser, I've opened my heart and home to a guide dog puppy. After being socialized and learning obedience and basic commands, Lucy will return to the school for intensive harness training. It's truly a rewarding job for an outstanding organization.

When I learned that Southeastern Guide Dogs relies 100% on private donations, receives no government funding, and doesn't charge the students a dime for these services – that's when I decided to participate in their biggest fundraiser of the year: the Walkathon.

Won't you join me in supporting Southeastern Guide Dogs in it's mission to raise and train these puppies, and provide such a priceless service to the visually impaired? I've set an ambitious Walkathon fundraising goal, and your help means a lot to me – and to the students whose lives are changed forever because of these incredible dogs.
